Rick Thompson is the Visiting Professor in Broadcast Journalism at the Department of Media and Communication at Birmingham City University (formerly the UCE). It has a range of radio and television facilities. The University offers several media qualifications, including a BA(Hons) in Media and Communication, and an MA in International Broadcast Journalism (one year), designed for students from outside Britain who want to develop a career in broadcast news or current affairs.
